“She just get’s it”
That is what my best friend and I must have said to each other 5 times during this concert. Ani Difranco is absolutely amazing. This was the first time I had seen her live and it was the best concert I have ever been to….and I have been to many. Granted, it was at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California, which is one of the best venues around. The crowd was great, the music was great, the whole night was perfect.

I brought a friend who only new the song “32 Flavors”. I was a bit anxious to see if she would enjoy the other songs like I knew I would–and the great thing about Ani Difranco live is that she sings nice and clear so you can understand every word. When I listen to music I often start day-dreaming and get lost in the beats, etc. When you listen to Ani Difranco it is like you are listening to a story…that also has great beats. I actually got sad when I had to go to the ladies room because I knew I was going to have to miss part of her show.
Ani spoke of politics, love, parenthood, and just life in general. Every song strikes some sort of chord with everyone in one way or another.

We had seats off to the side so I found myself looking at her biggest fans in the front row singing every word to every song. It was so great to see so many people feeling great and free of themselves. Everyone had a smile on their face and just wanted to have a good drama free evening. She ended the show with the song “Shameless” and the entire crowd was up in there seats. I guess people looked at me and thought the same thing I did as I danced the night way. The entire crowd surely bonded and I would definitely go see her again.
