Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Rockin’ On The River – Clarkston, WA

Words/Photos by thenaturalstoner

From all accounts Clarkston, Washingtons annual Rockin’ on the River, this year headlined by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, was a hugely intoxicated day of classic rock and roll. Rocking the LC Valley with all her hits including “I Love Rock and Roll”, “Crimson and Clover”, “Bad Reputation”, and a fun version of The Replacements “Androgynous”, Jett showed Clarkston, Washington a real good (albeit kinda weird) time.

  1. Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were definitely Rockin’ On The River the weekend! The crowd was full of fans of all ages – it was great to see that – and all the bands gave a great show. Can’t wait to see how much money was raised for the 3 charities this year’s event supported. The valley is becoming really active in the concert arena – you can take a look at upcoming shows here Dennis DeYoung, Rick Springfield, Joe Nichols, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band & more are headed to the Lewis-Clark Valley near Hells Canyon.

I went to this concert for my sweet 16th. Long story short, I met the lead guitar player at a restaurant, and ended up meeting Joan and watching the whole show from BACKSTAGE! Needless to say, it was the greatest day of my life! Joan sounds amazing and is an incredible role model to me.

  3. Maddy,

Thanks! I want to thank the awesome waitress at the restaurant. Her name is Sarah and she gave me the VIP passes. Everybody should go to a Jett concert; they’re a ton of fun! (P.S. My birthday is actually this Sunday, so you didn’t miss it)

  5. What restaurant were you at???
