Weir Wobbles Through Furthur’s New York Tour Stop
Bob Weir w/ Gov't Mule - Summer 2008
Furthur, the band featuring living legends Bob Weir and Phil Lesh made a stop into New York’s Nokia Theatre last night. Various message board rants are reporting that Weir was struggling to keep it together.

| drunk! he was not nodding off he was trying to maintain balance…we were really close on the upper left level and he was leaning and staggering…poor bobby, too much drinky pre-show raging!!he totally lost the words to el paso even when he tried to restart it
i can’t wait to hear the soundboards because they def turned his guitar way down for many songs and at the beginning of stella blue he was using the brown guitar, then switched for the pink then back to brown then back to pink in a matter of a few mins one time while fiddling with his knobs (hehehe) he was on his knee, he really struggled to get up, so he fiddled again then slowly got up and back to the mic that will be one hell of a hangover, but hey, we have all raged out like bobby has at one point or another! |
Concert Confessions staff writer thenaturalstoner has reported to me that his sources have told him that Lesh has to ask more than once if Weir was ok. Perhaps just a bad night, a one time fluke, but judging by the video below Bobby was anywhere but Nokia Theatre NYC last night. Let’s hope he can get it together and keep on rocking well into the fall with Furthur.
