Adam Lambert Joins Sublime w/ Rome
Note: This story was part of our April Fool’s 2012 News Blast Spectacular. It is not to be confused with truth. We hope you enjoy.
By now you have all heard the news that original Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh left the group after their appearance at the 2011 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert. While drummer extraordinaire Josh Freese was able to fill in for a few months, he is unable to tour with Sublime w/ Rome this summer. After an extensive search, the band has announced that former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert has been tapped to replace Gaugh.
When asked about performing with Sublime w/ Rome, Lambert said the following:
“How hard can it be, Sublime is simple music for simple people. Sure I have not played drums since I outgrew my toy kit when I was seven, but a lack of skill didn’t keep Bud from pounding the skins all those years. The way I see it, I get craft services each day and with my Glamberts flocking to the shows Sublime w/ Rome will be unstoppable.”
We tried to reach Rome for comment, but he was busy in his Mom’s basement continuing to work on his Shannon Hoon impression in hopes of launching the side project Blind Melon w/ Rome.
As soon as dates are announced for the Sublime w/ Rome and Lambert tour, we will post them here for you.
