Danny Barnes and Wayne Gottstine Announce New Project, SPLIT LIVERS; Set To Take Midwest By Storm

Bluegrass Fans – UNITE! It’s not everyday that you get the chance to see a man who changed the way an instrument is played team up with the mandolin player from one of the most unusual and diverse bands in the genre. Well boys and girls, the time has come for two masters of their craft, and two men with influences ranging from country to metal to punk rock.

Slayer of the banjo Danny Barnes and master of the mandolin Wayne Gottstine are teaming up for a new project called Split Livers. Getting the name from a combination of Gottstine’s Split Lip Rayfield and Barnes’ former touring band The Bad Livers, these shows promise to bring a whole lot of fun and will include songs from both catalogs as well as a few surprises at each stop. Though there are only a handful of dates at this time, a future album has already been mentioned so hopefully more dates will follow. Stay tuned to Concert Confessions for your updated dates as they become available or you can check out the Split Livers on Facebook.

Make sure to check back after the June 12th show at Off Broadway for my full review!
