Megadeth just finished wrapping up their tour in which they were celebrating the 20th anniversary release of their double-platinum selling album, Countdown To Extinction. As a huge Megadeth fan, I was super excited show and it was on their second-to-last stop at the SOLD OUT Fox Theater in Pomona, California on December 7th, 2012.

The venue itself is a decent size, it was my first time at that venue. The opening bands were: The Generators and Kyng. When Megadeth came on, they opened with their commercially successful song, Trust. They continued with the UFO/Area 51 themed, Hangar 18 which is the first Megadeth song I ever heard and is still one of my favorites due to the onslaught of shredding guitar solos done by Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick. Their 3rd song was Public Enemy #1 which is one of the tracks off of their newest album, Th1rt3en. After that, they proceeded to play the album, Countdown To Extinction from top to bottom.

The album contains some of their biggest hits such as Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, and Skin O’ My Teeth. After the album was finished, Megadeth came back out and played their hit single, She-Wolf and then their biggest hit-to-date and one of the greatest songs in metal and one of the best bass guitar riffs, Peace Sells. We all thought the show was over but then Dave Mustaine came back out to thank us for coming out and finished off the night by playing another one of my favorite Megadeth tunes, Holy Wars…The Punishment Due, which has one of my favorite guitar solos. This has to be one of the best times I’ve seen Megadeth. After the show, I caught up with Megadeth and talked with them for a bit and took pictures minus Mustaine whom was nowhere to be found. Dave Mustaine confirmed via his Twitter that the Pomona show will be released on DVD in the future so I definitely cannot wait to hopefully see myself on DVD!!

On this video, one of my friends who also attended the show, made a Megadeth flag. She throws it a Mustaine which he catches and in the video you can see him display it to the crowd, wipe his sweat on it, then throw it back to her. She still won’t stop talking about it but, can you blame her?

I mainly go to rock and metal concerts.
