Children of Bodom is a melodic death metal band from Finland. They got their name after The Bodominjärvi Murders, one of the most infamous unsolved homicide cases in Finnish criminal history. On March 8,  they released their tenth studio album Hexed. Children of Bodom wasted no time in announcing a North American tour. On this tour, they brought with them Swallow the Sun, Wolfheart and Fragmentum. Halfway through the tour, Children of Bodom made their way to Santa Ana, California where they packed The Observatory even on a Tuesday night. Metal fans were more than ready to let loose and feel metal pulsing through their bodies.
The Observatory was packed as fans eagerly awaited the arrival of Children of Bodom as they chanted, “Bodom! Bodom! Bodom!” as the lights went out. The members of Children of Bodom came out one by one with frontman Alexi Laiho being last and started the show with Are You Dead Yet?. The fans cheered with excitement and mosh pits quickly began as the fierce guitars ripped through the audience. The music was backed by the growls of Laiho which added ferocity to the music. The next song played was the fan-favorite, In Your Face. For the third song, Children of Bodom made note of their new album and decided to treat the fans to some new tunes and played Platitudes and Barren Words. The crowd was very energetic throughout the whole performance and were thrilled to have Children of Bodom back. The fans stayed wild with mosh pits and crowd surfers showing up the whole time. Children of Bodom played many classics such as Bodom Beach Terror, Everytime I Die and I Worship Chaos. They also played more new tracks like Under Grass and Clover and Hecate’s Nightmare. Nearing the end of the show, the familiar ending dialogue of the film American Psycho played over the speaker, “My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape.” The familiar keyboards started and so Children of Bodom played one of their best songs, Angels Don’t Kill. To end the show, Children of Bodom played another popular hit, If You Want Peace…Prepare For War. Fans cheered and continued to go wild. Children of Bodom left the  stage and all seemed quiet. Fans continued to chant, “Bodom! Bodom! Bodom!” and after a quick break, the band came back out for some encores. The first encore was one of their most successful singles Hate Me! which had fans singing along to the chorus. The grand finale of the night was another one of their most popular hits, Downfall. Children of Bodom wrapped up their performance, thanked the audience for coming out and left the stage leaving the fans wanting more with a very satisfying performance.

I mainly go to rock and metal concerts.
