Jan 24, 2013
It is a lot like Christmas in January. The 2013 Coachella lineup is here. Feel free to disagree, but while the headliners leave a lot to be desired this lineup has some great acts. From the reunions of Jurassic 5 and the Violent Femmes to Concert Confessions favorites like Modest Mouse, Ghost and Dinosaur Jr there is plenty of great music to be heard out in Indio this April. Check out the complete lineup down below.

Top Five Jay Porks Experiences of 2012
The end of the year brings us empty wallets, fat stomachs and most importantly larger egos than we had the year before. It's because of these egos that people like me put together these year end "best of" lists. Although as you know, here at Concert Confessions we do things a little differently then other sites. We don't have a Top Albums list, Top Artist list, Male and Female Rookies of the year list we do ... Read More

Orion Music + More Festival Day Two Recap 6/24/12
Orion Music + More Festival- Day Two: Running later than yesterday because the alarm didn't go off it was just a mere coincidence to have drank enough fluids on Day One that a built in intestinal alarm clock was installed as a back up. That was a dodged bullet there wasn't it? That could have been so much worse. Maybe not wake ... Read More

Must See Acts, Set Times for Orion Music + More Festival
Bader Field - Atlantic City, NJ June 23rd & 24th
On Saturday June 23rd, Atlantic City's own Bader Field will be taken over by the legion of Metal-Heads as Metallica's Orion Music + More Festival will kick off. You may have heard over the weekend that Phish just did 3 nights at this same "field".
When you hear someone say "Hey, I'm going to that Metallica festival" it's immediately interrupted as something that would be ... Read More

Dear concert going friends,
I know you and I go way back (hope all is well!) and it has been a long time since we have talked, but there is just something extremely exciting that has built inside of me about what is going to happen this weekend at THE GORGE for the 2012 version of the Sasquatch! Festival that I must tell you about. Last years Festival set the stage for a year of great memories and the need to “go back ... Read More

Firefly Music Festival To Be Held In Delaware
Delaware, welcome to the world of States that have sweet Music Festivals.
The news broke last night, that the three day ’Firefly Music Festival’, will be headlined by The Killers, The Black Keys and Jack White . Solid, right? I mean, sure The Killers aren’t in the stratosphere of musical relevance circa 2012 as the The Black Keys and Jack White are; but hey, they could have went with the Beach ... Read More

Well folks, it is that time of year, when all the crew at Concert Confessions take our best concert memories of 2011 and sum them up into the 10 best shows of the year. I must say, I have been dragging my feet on this one, even more than my tardiness of the 20 plus reviews I still must write. 2011 has been a year of many ups and downs for me and can be considered a fucking hellride ... thenaturalstoner's Top 10 Shows of 2011
2011 was undoubtedly my finest concert going year on record (out of 31!). I saw over 80 bands, did several awesome road trips, brought in visitors from around the country to come to the Gorge Amphitheatre, and almost all my shows were at least ‘decent’. Obviously some rise to the top, and some fall to the bottom... so here is my list of best concerts of 2011.
10) Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings 05/30/11 - The Gorge ... Read More

Prior to the Sasquatch! Festival I had created a preview for this site, and a couple of days later I am ready to look back and see how I did. Lots of moving and shaking going on in the table below.
It appears that the biggest surprise of the weekend for me was Major Lazer and the biggest drops were The Flaming Lips and Iron and Wine.

Sasquatch! Festival – Monday 5/30/11 – The Gorge Amphitheatre
Review, pictures and video from thenaturalstoner
Monday morning was a little bittersweet. Of course we started with a morning drink, but Mr. Sparkly was already gone for a couple days and Phishbeard was unable to stay for one last blow out, so I rocked Monday at the Gorge solo. I had company from our neighbors of course, and the day turned out to be a total success. I got to meet an artist I really ... Read More

Sasquatch! Festival – Sunday 5/29/11 – The Gorge Amphitheatre
Review, pictures and video from thenaturalstoner and Phishbeard
Sunday morning started off much like Saturday, with a whiskey and coke. We battled wind the night before and made it through unscathed, but Sunday night would be an entirely different beast. The shows Sunday were great, possibly the best day musically, but the aftermath was about as lame as it gets. Read on….
We had a tough decision to make in the afternoon, and it was unfortunate, ... Read More

Sasquatch! Festival 2011 Preview
By thenaturalstoner
It’s hard to believe that out of over 100 bands performing at this years Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre, I have only seen two. I go to a lot of concerts, and like a lot of these bands, so it’s really freaking odd to me that I have only seen the Old 97’s (at an old Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, approx. 10 years ago) and Sharon Jones, although I didn’t see her with the Dap-Kings, ... Tonight seemed like a 'coming out party' of sorts as Fiction Plane proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not just the band that feature Sting's son. So people, what goes on? Welcome to the 39th edition of the Jay Porks Never Ending Concert Series which brings us to the Mercury Lounge in New York City to see the band 'Fiction Plane' (Joe Sumner-Bass/Vocals, Seton Daunt-Guitar, Pete Wilhoit-Drums). Listen to Blitzen Trapper
Live at the 2010 Newport Folk Festival For Free
A little over two years ago, a network that was once known for playing music videos sent me out to a day long music festival at Universal Studios Hollywood. They had one mission for me – take as many photos of an up and coming band based out of Portland Oregon. That band was Blitzen Trapper. My initial reaction to the group was Bob Dylan backed by Modest Mouse covering Wilco.

Brand New w/ Manchester Orchestra/The Builders & The Butchers
10/17/2009 - The Palladium: Hollywood, CA
Words/Photos by Reverend Justito
It is pure dumb luck that I ever gave Brand New a chance. Sent on assignment to check in on the emerging y’alt rock hipster scene coming out of Portland, OR, I ended up watching Brand New steal a poorly planned festival gig from two veteran alt rock bands. With an outstanding new album called Daisy I headed into my old stomping grounds to finally experience ... Read More

There are a million things I could write about the KCRW World Music Festival at the Hollywood Bowl (featuring Blitzen Trapper/Jenny Lewis & headliner Ray LaMontagne w/ The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra). I could write all about how it will be the last show I be able to walk to at the historic venue (as we are about to move across town from Hollywood closer to the ... Read More

R.E.M. - Leaving New York
This is in responce to the post on Modest Mouse.
Having been an R.E.M. fan for a long time, this Madion Square Garden show was my first time seeing R.E.M. in concert. Modest Mouse gave direct support to R.E.M. and they were ok. I was more into watching (daydreaming) guitarist Johnny Marr, the former SMITH legend, wishing that it was them on stage.
R.E.M. has stood the test of time, their music played so well going from the early 80's jangly "(Don't Go Back To) ... Read More

I am looking forward to the George W. Bush tax rebate check that I still have not received. $600 bucks to inject back into the economy. Being a good American, I have decided to take that chunk of change and spend it. I live within walking distance from the Hollywood Bowl, and I really wanted that money to go back into my community. Tonight I was rewarded for the first donation I made with a chance to ... Read More
