Riot Fest 2014’s Mega Lineup Unleashed

RIOT FEST 2014

The plan here was to post the pic of all the bands and just name a handful of ones that us here at Concert Confessions are fans of and stuff like that. Then, as I kept reading into the poster containing the lineup for the 2014 Riot Fest in Chicago, this thing just has so much one would want to check out. Your top billing is The Cure, Jane’s Addiction, The National, Rise Against and Weezer while The Flaming Lips, Social Distortion, Slayer, The Offspring and Staten Island’s very own Wu-Tang Clan rounding out your ten highest billed performers. Dig deeper into the lineup and you’ll find Pussy Riot, Thurston Moore, Kurt Vile. You’ll also run into Failure and The Dandy Warhols. The Afghan Whigs are back, and you guessed it, they’re here too. My new favorite heroes(i.e. Dave Grohl/Safe Music) Mastodon is at this party as well. Feel free to have some fun too, throw a little Cheap Trick in your day. Things you don’t see here: Outkast, Lorde, Kanye West, Vampire Weekend, Skrillex and all those other garbage festival junkies you see on every card. Lots of music with guitars here.

Highlighted acts below, check out RiotFest.ORG for ticketing details and all that jazz.

Another good day for festivals as Rocklahoma 2013 has announced it’s lineup. Alice In Chains, “Guns N’ Roses” and Korn with the backwards “R” represent your headliners May 24th through the 26th if your the type of person to choose to hang in Oklahoma for 3 days. Other acts playing sets that don’t suck entirely: Cheap Trick, Bush, Bullet For My Valentine, Papa Roach and Clutch. And stop me if you’ve heard these words before, but for more information check out the festival’s official website

Rock On The Range 2013 Features Soundgarden, Alice In Chains & Smashing Pumpkins

2013RockOnTheRange

No matter what year it actually is right now, this Rock On The Range lineup for 2013 is indeed super awesome. Upon a Google search trying to see Soundgarden‘s set list from last night in New York City, we stumbled upon this line up of past, present and future heroes and wondered how exactly one would bring themselves to actually go to Ohio. Headliners include Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Smashing Pumpkins. Some may say “What is it 1993 or something?”, but those people might not be aware that all three of those bands released new, critically acclaimed records in the past two years. Korn (can’t type the backwards R), Bush, Stone Sour, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Cheap Trick, Swedish Rockers Ghost, Middle Class Rut and Heavy Metal favorites Sevendust are among the notables.

It’s all going down May 17th through 19th at Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH. And tickets are on sale February 1st and you can head to the festival’s official website for more details on everything that is Rock On The Range. This one looks like a lot of fun. Clutch 2012 US Tour Dates

Clutch 2012 US Tour Dates

So this band Clutch, I have seen them open for everyone from Biohazard to Coheed and Cambria. I don’t really enjoy them. Well, I should say I don’t enjoy the vocals, the riffs are tasty as fuck. The boys from Germantown Maryland have just announced plans to hit the road with Prong and Lionize and you can check out all the dates below. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get into the band Clutch. I’ve listened to records, I have seen them perform with everyone from Deftones to Biohazard – yet they just don’t “do it” for me.

That said, if Clutch does do it for you; check out our friends over at Antiquiet who will give you details on how to get some free live MP3’s from the band.
