Lisa Loeb Pays A Visit To Conan

Lisa Loeb

Lisa Loeb, Hell Yes! Oh come on, you can’t deny the moisture in your undergarments when she asks you to Stay with those pointed edge glasses on leaning against the wall in that lonely looking apartment. You don’t have to admit it aloud, it okay. It’s our secret.

Anyway, we’ve got ourselves two things here tonight. Lisa Loeb was hanging in Burbank and stopped off at Conan to perform on Basic Cable. On Television, the world got to see her and Chad Gilbert get into a song called “No Fairy Tale”. We’ll add that video in a few hours when it goes live on TeamCoco.Com That video lays below

As a bonus, and obviously this post probably doesn’t happen without this, we have ourselves a little Web Exclusive action and that action being 90s mainstay, “Stay (I Missed You)”. You can check out that video below, courtesy of the aforementioned Team Coco.

What’s it like to see Lisa Loeb live? Well, one of our fine contributors here at Concert Confessions did that once, and you can check out that Confession here.

The Vaccines Rocked “Teenage Icon” on Conan

The Vaccines

In music news unrelated to Dave Grohl (we’re fairly certain anyway), Indie rockers The Vaccines were in Burbank last night and just happen to stop by Conan. They played a track called “Teenage Icon” off their record ‘Come Of Age”. Check out the video below, courtesy of Team Coco.

Watch Ben Folds Five Perform On Conan

Ben Folds Five Conan

Ben Folds Five Hit Basic Cable last night performing two tracks off their latest record ‘The Sound Of Life And Of The Mind”. The first one is  “Draw A Crowd”, and if my ears aren’t mistaken the chorus sounds like “If you can’t draw a crowd draw dicks on a wall” which is too great. They also played a web exclusive “Erase Me”. Check out the replay of last nights action below, courtesy of Team Coco

Gary Clark Jr Invades Conan (Televised Performance + Web Exclusive)

Gary Clark Jr

Gary Clark Jr. stopped by Conan on TBS Tuesday Night to bring some soul to basic cable. Not only that, but he brought it to the web as the fine folks at Team Coco have a web exclusive that is now live on their website. It’s a sweet performance of “Ain’t Messin’ Around”. A video of that can be viewed below. Also, check out  video of the performance of “Numb” that aired on TBS.

Ben Gibbard Performs on Conan w/ Trio Ellas Last Night

Ben Gibbard Performs on Conan w/ Trio Ellas Last NightBen Gibbard (Conan 12/20)

Mariachi El Ben? Close, but it’s just Death Cab’s little whining frontman Ben Gibbard playing solo stuff with a mariachi band called Trio Ellas on Conan last night.  Not only am I wondering why this dude is playing with a mariachi band but also why would band with ‘Trio’ in their name contain at least 8 people. These are just questions I ask as we pass along to you not judgments, but the ability to rewatch this clip from last night. They played a song called “Something’s Rattling” off Mr. Gibbard’s new record Former Lives . You can watch the video below, courtesy of Team Coco.

Watch Ryan Adams Perform “Shine Through The Dark” on Conan

Watch Ryan Adams Perform “Shine Through The Dark” on Conan

Ryan Adams is the coolest cat on the block. He’s working with Evan Dando on new stuff, he’s on Judd Apatow Film Soundtracks and last night, he was on Basic Cable. Ryan Adams stopped by Conan to perform a song off of the aforementioned soundtrack to the new Judd Apatow movie “This Is 40”. Personally for this writer-Paul Rudd isn’t anything to wait in line at the movies for, but the Ryan Adams song below “Shine Through The Dark” is most definitely worth a few minutes of your time. The video is brought to you by the good folks at Team Coco

So check out who was on Conan last night, none other than Jack White. Check out the video of that performance below, courtesy of Team Coco

This New Years Eve, Nas will countdown the remaining hours  of the year inside Radio City Music Hall in New York City as he plays a show to end 2012. Last night found one of Queen’s finest in Burbank and basic cable television. Riding high off his latest release “Life Is Good”, Nas came by Conan and played up a track off the album titled “World’s An Addiction “. Check out the video below courtesy of Team Coco

Alice Cooper And Co. Stopped By Conan (Web Exclusive)

Alice Cooper And Co Stopped By Conan

A few nights ago in Spokane, WA (or Airway Heights as the locals would call it),  our pals Mr Sparkly and TheNaturalStoner took in an epic, career spanning Alice Cooper set; full of everything you can ask for. Since then I’ve had one obsession: Orianthi . Damn am I hooked on her. Anyway,”channeling her inner Nancy Wilson of Heart circa 1984″ as Mr Sparkly put it, Alice Cooper and Co. were on Conan tonight. Better news: There’s a web exclusive. The band performed “I’ll Bite Your Face Off” while I starred hoping I can do such to Orianthi. Video Courtesy of Team Coco. Check It it:

Everybody love some Cat Power, and why wouldn’t you? So what if she’s got the same haircut as the guy from Neon Trees.  The Atlanta native stopped by Conan last night to perform a song “Cherokee” off her new album Sun. Check out the video of that performance below, courtesy of Team Coco

NEEDTOBREATHE Dresses Up Like Girls on Conan

NEEDTOBREATHE Dresses Up Like Girls on Conan

Last Night, after Chelsea Handler was done being interviewed by Conan, a band came on to perform dressed up like girls. The only problem with Halloween is that if it’s the first time you’ve ever seen a band perform you’re not sure if they’re in costume or if that’s how they actually dress. But I looked it up, and NEEDTOBREATHE are all guys, even though they dressed up like girls last night- they actually dressed up as girls from Tennessee like Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner and Minnie Pearl to play a song called, you guessed it, “Girl Named Tennessee”  . You can view the hilarious video (and not terrible song) below courtesy of Team Coco

Bob Mould Performs “Keep Believing” on Conan

Bob Mould Performs “Keep Believing” on Conan

Last night, while most of New York City was in darkness and cars were under water, Burbank was dry and enjoying the crunchy riffs of Bob Mould performing on Conan. The song is called “Keep Believing”  and it’s off his new record Silver Age. You can view the video below courtesy of the fine folks at Team Coco

Kendrick Lamar  Performs “Swimming Pools (Drank)” on Conan

Dr. Dre may not be putting out his new record anytime soon, but he continues to put out artists that put out records. Last night, his latest prodigy Kendrick Lamar stopped by Conan on Basic Cable to play “Swimming Pools (Drank)” off his new album good kid m.a.a.d. City. You can check out that video below, courtesy of Team Coco.

Video: Ellie Goulding on Conan

Watch Ellie Goulding Performs on Conan

I have to admit I have no idea who this person is. All I know is there’s a part of this song featured in a commercial for some crappy headphones, but come to find out that’s just a small sample of the song. So I checked out the full thing and I’m still not a fan, but check it out below Ellie Goulding perform “Anything Can Happen” on Conan Wednesday Night, video originally courtesy of The Audio Perv

Thanks to Team Coco for e-mailing us a copy which you can watch below.

Myles Kennedy is feeling better, and after cancelling last nights gig and the Wiltern, Slash and Co. bounced back in Burbank on Basic Cable rocking out to “Standing in the Sun” on Conan. Video Below courtesy of The Audio Perv. Slash DESTROYS in this by the way, in case you needed someone to tell you that something like that would occur in this performance.

Band Of Horses Play “Knock Knock” on Conan

They’ve opened for Pearl Jam on tour, their albums are sometimes available at your local Starbucks. Now, Band of Horses are back with a new record “Mirage Rock”. Last night the Seattle boys stopped by Conan to play a song off that very same new record, a song called “Knock Knock”. Check out the video below:

Best Coast Performs on Conan

Best Coast Performs on Conan

Last time I heard from Best Coast, it was killing time mid afternoon at Day two of the Orion Music + More festival between Gary Clark Jr and Black Dahlia Murder. Well, tonight marks the first time this writer has seen the Best Coast chick without the stupid white hipster glasses on. Anyway, you can watch the video below from their appearance on Conan from earlier tonight. Hat tip goes to the Audio Perv

Silversun Pickups Stop By Conan

Meanwhile, over in Hollywood, the Silversun Pickups  (who are currently on tour) appeared on Conan. I’m not calling them “SSPU” because it sounds like the name of a boat that smells bad. You know what doesn’t smell bad, or even sound bad? This awesome video below of the band performing “The Pit”. Check it out.

Big K.R.I.T. Performs “I Got This” on Conan

Big K.R.I.T. Performs “I Got This” on Conan/Summer Tour Dates

So after finally checking out my man Childish Gambino last night, I was really feeling rather hood if I do say so myself. So when the Big K.R.I.T. video popped up on the web I instantly came here to share it with you and had a paragraph written double the size of this one. There’s only one problem, when I saw Big K.R.I.T., I off the bat confused it with Big Sean-only to find out after hitting play on the video, that this was not the case. I’m obviously a bigot.. against artists who start their names with ‘Big’.

But luckily, I asked around the Concert Confessions peeps and BeezNutz (how do you not love this guy?) knows all about Big K.R.I.T. Quote: ” Big K.R.I.T (King Remembered In Time) is from the dirty south, hailing from Meridian, Mississippi. He put out the K.R.I.T Wuz Here mixtape in 2010 just released his studio debut ” Live from The Underground ” on Def Jam”

Grace Potter And The Nocturnals Hit Conan

It was a fingers crossed type of evening. There I was, just waking up from another poorly timed nap. The LA Kings were hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup at the Staples Center, the Yankees had reclaimed a piece of 1st place in the AL East and all I was wishing for was for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals to not suck on Conan.

Opening for Kenny Chesney on tour with a new album out “The Loin The Beast The Beat” and a new bass player (as Catherine Popper tears it up with Joseph Arthur these days), I was skeptical of what direction this band is going. Are they just gonna turn into the Grace Potter band or what? Anyway, the song they played on Conan thankfully, didn’t drive me away from any future Grace Potter projects and was called “Never Go Back”.  You can view the video from that performance below.

No one may know who Dynasty Electric is, but if you gave Grace Potter a Theremin  I swear she’d be that same chick from that band. You know, like a famous version of that chick.

Girls Bring ‘Love Like A River’ To Conan

Girls Bring “Love Like A River” to Conan

When a late night host calls a band “critically acclaimed”, it usually means I hate them. Most of the time that’s just code for “Yea we don’t quite know why they’re here either”.

Finally, this was not the case on Wednesday Night, when the awesome San Francisco boys, known as  Girls paid a visit to Late night cable television. They performed  the beautiful “Love Like A River”(off ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost‘) on Conan. In case you missed it, we have the video for you below. So glad this album was one of the few I shelled out money to buy when it came out..

To check out some past confessions of Girls, click here, here and here.

Arctic Monkeys Bring ‘R U Mine’ To Conan

Arctic Monkeys Bring ‘R U Mine’ To Conan

With our very own Reverend Justito currently en route to the desert for Coachella, we’re here to bring you a couple other dudes on their way to Indio as well, and that’s the Arctic Monkeys. The  band performed “R U Mine?” on Conan (4/12), and the video sits below:

St. Vincent Calls An Audible On Conan 1/16/12

Words by Jay Porks/Photo Reverend Justito

On Monday, St. Vincent stopped by Conan on a night where Kate Beckinsale’s hotness almost blew up my television. Another artist that will be at Coachella 2012 they were introduced and strummed a few chords of an Elvis Costello-ish sounding tune. Then, just when it’s about to break Annie Erin Clark waves her hands in the air demanding the band stop. She then says into the mic “I’m sorry ladies and gentleman, there is no reason to play that song”, before diving into the beautiful track called “Cheerleader”.

Now the only thing this writer knows about St. Vincent is the stuff I read here at Concert Confessions, so I actually had to go listen to the song Cheerleader afterwards to see if this is how the song actually goes, or was that just an audible called at the line of scrimmage last minute. Turns out, it was an audible. Not that “Cheerleader” is filled with F-Bombs or anything, but imagine if it was? How cool would that would’ve been? Either way, the video below should share with you not only the coolness of this band, but also a really bad ass guitar.

Check it out.

Yelawolf Rocks Conan 12/5/11

Yelawolf Rocks Conan 12/05/11

And with the Crimson Tide being put in the BCS National Championship game earlier this week, it was only fitting Alabama’s own Yelawolf came on Conan Monday night with a song called “Let’s Roll”.

The latest prodigy out of Eminem’s Shady Records camp came on stage with full band, including Travis Barker (of Blink 182 fame) on drums and a back up singer that looked exactly like Cee-Lo Green. Rocking the crimson red tee shirt with the Alabama “A” on it, I must say his performance was quite unlike the 9-6 LSU-Alabama game from earlier this year, as it was entertaining.

Jumping around stage with a huge chain swinging, band kicking out the jams, just running through verses filled with intricate lyrics faster than I could keep up with was all combined enough to have me, a first timer, sold on his future potential. Plus, he runs with Eminem and Slaughterhouse..

And Let’s note that’s what makes Conan the more ‘hip’ of the Late Night hosts-he shows us his copy of the album on vinyl, as oppose to the CD I saw Kimmel holding up on a performance a week or two ago. The album is ‘Radioactive’, and it’ in stores now.
