After a successful first year in 2012, Firefly Music Festival will return to Delaware this June.
Highlights of the 2013 lineup include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many more. You can check more of the notables below, as well as the the complete lineup in the video under that.
This May, Atlanta will be host to a brand new music festival. Dubbed ‘Shaky Knees Music Festival’, the festivities will all be going down in Masquerade Music Park and the Historic Fourth Ward Park this May 4th and 5th . It’s a two-day swing, and the festival features 28 bands spanning over three outdoor stages. Word around the water cooler is that local food trucks, artisans and vendors will also be available.
The lineup for Shaky Knees includes everything from up-and-comers The Orwells to “Best New Artist” Grammy nominees The Lumineers, with an eclectic lineup that includes Band of Horses, Jim James, (here’s a shocker) Gary Clark Jr., Welsh rockers the Joy Formidable, Kurt Vile & the Violators and more. Curated by longtime Atlanta promoter Tim Sweetwood, the fest offers live music fans two days of music in an urban outdoor setting.
Two-day general admission tickets as well as VIP passes went on sale on yesterdayat Ticketmaster. For additional info check out the festival’s official website by clicking here
I present you with my 2012 LouFest photo gallery. This was one of my favorite smaller festivals I have attended and I look forward to what the future LouFest’s will bring now that they seem to be coming into their own in their third year. Enjoy the pictures in this gallery as much as I enjoyed shooting them and go listen to some of these great bands (I highly suggest Little Barrie)
2012 Outside Lands Music Festival Announces Initial Artist Details
Last year our man Reverend Justito returned home to San Francisco where he enjoyed all three days of Outside Lands. Knowing this year he would not be able to make it, he was praying for a terrible lineup. Of course his prayers were not answered as Outside Lands is back with one of its best lineups yet. Headliners include beloved Bay Area natives Metallica and Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Also high up on the list are the likes of Foo Fighters, Jack White and Stevie Wonder.
Three Day Passes go on sale Thursday April 19th at 12 noon PST. Prices will go up as each “level” sells out. Click here for all the ticketing details. To read our reviews from Outside Lands 2011, click here, here and here.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, we officially have a list of the performers that will take the stage for Lollapalooza 2012.
After cancelling numerous tour dates earlier this year due to illness of Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath will headline the festival that takes place in Chicago August 3rd-5th alongside Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Black Keys.
Don’t worry folks, everybody’s favorite reunited band At The Drive In will be there too, along with Avicii, Florence and The Machine, Justice and The Shins. And I guess it wouldn’t be a festival if Childish Gambino wasn’t involved.
Wilco is going on tour this summer. They are going to play with some great support acts like Blitzen Trapper, Lee Ranaldo and Dr. Dog. They will probably yell at you if you bring a camera, cause Jeff Tweedy hates that shit. This is why our founder Reverend Justito does go and see Wilco live. That and the fact he is still bummed about the whole Jay Bennett thing. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go and check them out. Below you will find all the U.S. Tour Dates for the band as of April 10th, 2012.

This years lineup is topped with one of the most energetic live bands out there, a band that makes every show a party… and a band that somehow seems to always “get permission” from the local police to allow marijuana smoking at their shows during just one song… The Flaming Lips! Also at the top of the bill is Gregg Gillis, better known to most by his stage name, Girl Talk. The 3rd installment of LouFest will also feature performances from alt rock legends, Dinosaur Jr as well as alt-country band Son Volt featuring Jay Farrar, former Uncle Tupelo band mate of Jeff Tweedy. Other bands featured are rockers Dr Dog, indie rock favorites Dawes and the recently reunited Cotton Mather. My favorite band on the lineup based solely on their name is definitely Springfield, MO’s Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, with St. Louis’ Sleepy Kitty a distant 2nd.
The Flaming Lips
The grassroots festival takes place in the heart of St. Louis at the Central Field at Forest Park on August 25-26, 2012. The premise for LouFest is to book a few solid headliners, and then give the remaining spots to emerging local and touring artists, and some of your favorite established artists (See: Dinosaur Jr) LouFest will feature music spread out over 2 days and 3 stages, as well as retail, food and beverages (both adult and all ages), and best of all the festival features a massive Go Green effort with recycling, compost stations, free valet bike parking, and refillable water stations. This is also a family friendly festival, and kids 10 and under get in free with a ticket holding guardian! You even get in and out privileges, so if you want to spend a chunk of one day at the amazingly awesome St. Louis Zoo located in the same park, go right ahead!
Early Bird tickets are available now and will run you $60 for a 2 Day Pass. As the event approaches, the cost will go up to $70 or you can buy single day tickets for $40 at a later date…. pick up your tickets now!!!
