Virgin Mobile’s 2012 “FreeFest”: Jack White and Skrillex to Headline
You know the more cool shows and stuff that get’s announced out of Maryland and Delaware, the more I think it wouldn’t be so bad to head down there from time to time-even if it’s a 5+ hour drive from New York City.
This festival contains two main stages and we’ve got the full list of acts below. Now let’s talk about the title of “Freefest” :
-Free tickets to the festival will be available to the public on August 24th at 12PM (Noon) over at Ticketfly.
-Freefest has a limited amount of “Freemium Packages ,” that can get you admission into the festival but require a ‘charitable donation’ to Virgin Mobile USA’s Youth Homelessness Initiatives,. With that you get a FreeFest T-shirt, a souvenir cup (a cup that includes free fountain drinks for the duration of the festival) as well as early admission to the grounds. You can grab some Freemium tickets at Ticketfly or the box offices at the 9:30 Club as well as the Merriweather Post Pavilion.
So the only question left, is who’s driving this writer??
Cage The Elephant’s Starry Nights Music Festival Lineup Announced
Alternative rock group Cage The Elephant have been quickly gaining fame the past four years. They’ve released two critically acclaimed studio albums, toured relentlessly, and played massive festivals to massive audiences. But one of their greater accomplishments is kickstarting the music scene of Bowling Green, Kentucky, their hometown. Ever since getting their break, bands such as Sleeper Agent, Schools, and Morning Teleportation have been formed and sponsored by Cage The Elephant, proving that they haven’t forgotten their roots. Well now, they’ve formed their own 2-day festival in Bowling Green, and invited a bunch of the buddies to play with them. Lead singer Matt Schultz has stated in interviews that he is trying to recreate some experiences he had as a rowdy teenager growing up in Bowling Green and the pretty brilliant lineup for the 2012 edition proves that. You can check it out down below.
Cage The Elephant, Portugal. The Man, Manchester Orchestra, MiMosa, Justin Townes Earle, The Whigs, Sleeper Agent, Moon Taxi, JEFF The Brotherhood, Margot And the Nuclear So And So’s, Morning Teleportation, Wild Belle, Space Capone, PUJOL, The Kingston Springs, Five Knives, and Bad Cop.
The festival will be held September 28th and 29th in Bowling Green Kentucky. Tickets will be on sale soon. A regular pass will cost you $45 while a collectible pass will set you back $50. For tickets and further information on this exciting festival, check out the official site by clicking here.
2012 Outside Lands Music Festival Announces Initial Artist Details
Last year our man Reverend Justito returned home to San Francisco where he enjoyed all three days of Outside Lands. Knowing this year he would not be able to make it, he was praying for a terrible lineup. Of course his prayers were not answered as Outside Lands is back with one of its best lineups yet. Headliners include beloved Bay Area natives Metallica and Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Also high up on the list are the likes of Foo Fighters, Jack White and Stevie Wonder.
Three Day Passes go on sale Thursday April 19th at 12 noon PST. Prices will go up as each “level” sells out. Click here for all the ticketing details. To read our reviews from Outside Lands 2011, click here, here and here.
