Watch Garbage's Entire Webster Hall Show (New York City May 22nd 2012)
I'm getting old.
In previous years, a guy like myself would have made his way into the city earlier this evening to catch Garbage destroy Webster Hall. But that wasn't the case as this writer not only wasn't in the building, but was admittedly asleep for the entire duration of the Webcast courtesy of MTV HIVE.
Fate is a funny thing. You ever fall asleep early and wake up like 3Am with absolutely ... Read More

Slash & Myles Kennedy Bring "You're A Lie" To Fallon
I know, I know. Every time Slash appears on some Late Night TV show performing I'm always here sharing the video. It's just that I never get to see him live, the shows always sell out in 5 minutes, or they're on sale weeks I'm broke as sh!t. So, I try to get my fill in when I can.
That said, below is the video from last nights episode of Late Night With Jimmy ... Read More

Mick Jagger, Foo Fighters & Arcade Fire Hit SNL Stage
It's tough these days to try to be one of these "online rock journalist" dudes when I can't stand any moment in time when Dave Grohl isn't behind a drum kit. But, I've been muzzled from making fun of things that the mass majority of people like, so that will be my only dig I promise. Anyway, tonight Saturday Night Live completed it's 37th Season, and the finale featured a slew of big ... Read More

Best Coast Play "The Only Place" On Letterman
I walked in from a night of Foxy Shazam and the first thing on TV when I walked in was Best Coast on Letterman. Funny, because we at Concert Confessions were just discussing the other day about how Best Coast are playing Orion Music + More Festival (that Metallica thing in Atlantic City) and how it's not going to take long for this chick (the singer in this band) get hit in the face with ... Foxy Shazam- 05/16/2012
Bowery Ballroom -New York City
Words/Photos By Jay Porks
Usually for me, the opening bands at shows are a time for me to get annoyed-quickly. Yet somehow back in February when I saw The Darkness, there was just something about Foxy Shazam. Something about them that made me want to learn more. How long have I been missing out on this? Then, the band headlined there own tour and hit the places like Seattle, and Utah where I was able to read ... Read More

Willie Nelson Covers Pearl Jam On Jimmy Fallon
It's been almost a year since I saw Willie Nelson in Spokane. The legend himself in person. Hard to believe that weekend even happened. So every time he's on TV or something I feel like I have to check it out, to sort of relieve the memories a little bit. So he stopped by 'Late Night', promoting his latest effort Heroes among other things. Hell I would go see him again in NJ tomorrow night ... Read More

Tenacious D Perform 'Roadie' on Letterman
Easily entertained is how I would describe the majority of fans of music I run into.
That being said, last night Tenacious D stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City to play a boring song to a crowd that loved it. Maybe it's because I don't find Jack Black funny in most of his flicks that I don't get this band. But I don't care if they brought John Bonham and Jimi Hendrix back from the dead ... Read More

The Wallflowers Announce A Few Tour Dates, New Record
Bob's favorite son, Jakob Dylan is back with his band The Wallflowers, and they're set to release a new album in the Fall. They've also announced a few tour dates over the summer.
If I remember correctly, back when I was first writing up a post on the Firefly Music Festival that's going to be held in Delaware, I noted next to The Wallflowers name "who's absence from Summerland 2012 is Baffling ". Well I ... Read More

The Beach Boys Didn't Die On Fallon
I'll tell you a true story right now. Back at the Gorge last year, during the end of the Meat Puppets set, our man Mr. Sparkly was pissed he missed them covering The Beach Boys "Sloop John B" a video that can be found here:
He was pissed because he loves the Beach Boys, and was in the process of bringing his camera back to the campsite after Livenation mistakenly thought we were wearing lipstick and completely fucked ... Read More

Black Box Revelation To Kick Off US Tour May 12th
So when these dates broke, I immediately thought to myself "Okay, so what epic band are they opening for this time?". Readers of Concert Confessions have seen the Black Box Revelation pop up multiple times on this website. Whether it's opening for Beady Eye, opening for the Meat Puppets, opening for Jane's Addiction- The boys from Belgium have been able to keep themselves busy in the last calender year.
Busy they shall stay, as on ... Read More

Jack White Interviewed, Performed On Colbert Report
Hey here's a surprise, Jack White made a television appearance.
Since announcement of his solo trek across the United States and Beyond, Mr. White has been all over television, so much so that's is starting to leave some of us bored with it already... But in all seriousness, no matter what side of the fence you fall on: The "I Heart Jack White" side, or the "I'm so damn sick of Jack White already I want to puke ... Read More

Jack White On Later With Jools Holland
If there's one thing that America, the land of the free home of the brave doesn't have, it's a show like "Later... with Jools Holland", who focused his show around the musical stylings of Jack White.
Normally the Late Night shows are where sitcom/movie stars and the occasional Presidential Candidate stop by to promote their own filth, while making us all wait. Making us wait through the stupid anecdotes about their "cute dog" or how they really had to really ... Read More

Pearl Jam And The Foo Fighters Headline YET Another Festival
So, in a week where "Bands Jay Porks Hates" is the Lunchtime Jam of the Day theme it's just fitting that a festival with this line up would be announced.
There are so many things I'd rather be doing right now then reporting on yet another festival headlined by Pearl Jam and The Foo Fighters. Cutting myself, putting my mouth on the exhaust of a parked car and voting Republican top the list, but you know ... Read More

The Hives Perform On Jimmy Kimmel
Last time I heard anything from the Hives was that "Hate to Say I Told You So" song that showed up on my Meat Puppets Pandora Internet Radio station. That song was pretty cool. Still waiting on that second hit from the band(How will they ever become The Strokes if they only have ONE good song?)

Girls Bring "Love Like A River" to Conan
When a late night host calls a band "critically acclaimed", it usually means I hate them. Most of the time that's just code for "Yea we don't quite know why they're here either".
Finally, this was not the case on Wednesday Night, when the awesome San Francisco boys, known as Girls paid a visit to Late night cable television. They performed the beautiful "Love Like A River"(off 'Father, Son, Holy Ghost') on Conan. In case you missed ... Read More

I have no idea why people don't support/know of this band. My 4th time seeing the Mid West Duo and it's no secret that New York City hasn't gotten the full Local H platter the last 3 visits to town.
