Mike Gordon at the Crocodile Cafe, Seattle, WA 11-10-10
Review and photos by thenaturalstoner
When I first planned my current week long vacation, I was excited by the thought of coming home and writing a great review about the Mike Gordon show at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle last night. Unfortunately things do not always go as planned, and I will have to shift my main focus towards the PACKED venue instead of the musical act in this write-up.
I hope last night was an ... Read More

Mike Gordon at the Aladdin Theatre, Portland, OR 11-8-10
Mini-Review and Photos by thenaturalstoner
Mike Gordon at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland was a truly great experience for those lucky enough to get a ticket to the sold out performance. From the Andelman’s Yard opener to a raging cover of Cities to the Takin’ it to the Streets encore the tiny Aladdin Theatre was bouncing and shaking all night long.
I didn’t know what to expect at my first Mike Gordon solo show, I had ... Read More

David Allan Coe – John’s Alley, Moscow, ID – 9-26-10
Review and pictures by thenaturalstoner
I must admit, coming into tonight’s David Allan Coe concert in Moscow, Idaho I was not very familiar with the country legends musical catalog. I had heard some of the stuff he did with Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings and a few other things, but never was a super fan. However, tonight I was ready to let loose, let my inner cowboy fly and enjoy a night on the ... Read More

The Smashing Pumpkins 9/14/2010 – The Knitting Factory, Spokane, WA
Review and Photos by thenaturalstoner
I always viewed the Smashing Pumpkins as one of those great 90’s alternative bands I never got the pleasure to see live, so when I saw their Spokane tour date announced I purchased tickets as fast as I could. Nevermind this is essentially the “Billy Corgan Band”, with he being the only original band member remaining, I wanted to hear HIM sing THOSE songs. Well, last nights show in ... Read More

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Rockin' On The River - Clarkston, WA
Words/Photos by thenaturalstoner
From all accounts Clarkston, Washingtons annual Rockin' on the River, this year headlined by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, was a hugely intoxicated day of classic rock and roll. Rocking the LC Valley with all her hits including "I Love Rock and Roll", "Crimson and Clover", "Bad Reputation", and a fun version of The Replacements "Androgynous", Jett showed Clarkston, Washington a real good (albeit kinda weird) time.

Ween 05/30/10
The Wilma Theatre - Missoula, MT
Words/Photos by TheNaturalStoner
Personally I had a lot of inner hype built up upon entering The Wilma Theatre to see Ween perform in Missoula, Montana. The show, long sold out, proved to be a hard ticket to find. After trading my Sasquatch Festival tickets for two Ween Wilma tickets, I was very much looking forward to some fun Weenness out in Big Sky Country. The band, city and venue did not disappoint.
The Wilma Theatre is an old ... Read More

Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival w/ Cyrus Chestnut, Dee Daniels and the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Gospel Choir & The Taj Mahal Trio

I definitely picked an interesting (see: not great) show to make my first Concert Confessions review, and in hindsight I should have picked a different one, but we all make mistakes in our lives. The evening wasn’t terrible, but the crowd was, which I suppose is partially my fault.
Last night I went to ... Read More
