Triple Bordego Tackle "The Decline" at TRiP
It was back in 2010 when we took our first trip to TRiP to check out Triple Bordego. While we don’t review every single show this up and coming Southern California punk group performs in our neighborhood, we do enjoy sharing some of their finer moments. Last week, the group returned to TRiP for a two set show. The highlight of the show was the group closing the first set with a cover of the longest ... Read More

As 2011 reaches a close, we take a look back at the year in concerts. In volume, I probably attend the least amount of total shows per year if you pool all of the contributors here at Concert Confessions. But never the less, by years end I will have reached 23 concerts, eclipsing last years total of 20. My only personal goal is to always get out to more shows then the year before. We did that in 2011, and here's hoping ... Read More

After a show scheduled for February was cancelled just days after being announced, Split Lip Rayfield vowed they would be coming back to St. Louis later this year. Their last trip through the Gateway to the West was in May of 2010 opening for Reverend Horton Heat, also at the Old Rock House. I was a little disappointed to have to wait another 9 months to see these guys in STL again. I must say, the wait ... Read More

Death From Above 1979 (w/ Funeral Party) 09/04/11
Music Box at Fonda - Hollywood, CA
Words/Photos by Reverend Justito
Just my luck, I was introduced to Death From Above 1979 right before they decided to call it quits. For years I heard epic tales of their live shows and watched hours of footage on the internet. In my personal opinion the reunion of Death From Above 1979 is the most important musical reunion of 2011. When the band announced a post FYF Fest show at ... Read More

Les Schwab Amphitheater - Bend, OR
Words/Photos by PhishBeard
July 2nd, 2011, there was a meeting of the minds from the great states of OR, WA, and ID and they all gathered in Bend, OR. Their sole purpose was to make Bend their bitch and own that town as if it were theirs. Oh and they also came to see the band with an awesome sound… Ween. The weather was perfect and having the Les Schwab Amphitheater as the venue, made for a ... Read More

Ryan Adams 06/28/11
Amsterdam Concertgebouw - Amsterdam, Netherlands
Words/photos by Esther
Editors Note: Cameras were not allowed at this show. Our pal Esther was busted by security for simply having her phone out.
When An Accoustic Evening with Ryan Adams at the main hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw went on sale, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the best seats in the house: not front row, but eleven rows in. The acoustics in that part of the hall are outstanding. To say I ... Read More

Matt and Kim 06/20/11
In The Venue - Salt Lake City, UT
Words/Photos by Meredith
My oh my, I had no idea what a ride I was in for when I herded into In the Venue for Matt and Kim with The Thermals. I'd decided to check this show out after a good friend of mine told me that her boyfriend wouldn't go with her again. I thought, they couldn't be that bad, could they?
Well, much to my delight, Matt and Kim brought it. For a ... Read More

The Complex - Salt Lake City, UT
Words/Photos by Meredith
About two months ago, I found myself looking at the schedule of events coming to Salt Lake City. I saw Face to Face and Strung Out were heading this way. I was excited about this show because not only was it the first time Face to Face has toured in a while, but also I got to see Strung Out. This band has a ... Read More

Taking Back Sunday (w/ Thursday) 06/15/11
In The Venue - Salt Lake City, UT
Words/Photos by Meredith
Here we are again at In the Venue. This place varies for me, sometimes it is outstanding, and other times it is way too crowded, smelly, and has poor lighting. This was one of the good times. I was lucky enough to get press access to snap photos of Taking Back Sunday and guests Thursday this Wednesday. Confused yet? Yeah me too. This was my first time seeing ... Read More

System of a Down w/ Gogol Bordello 05/13/11
Key Arena - Seattle, WA
Words by jakobross424
I woke up Friday, May 13 and thought: I am seeing System of a Down tonight.
Alternative-metal band SOAD went on hiatus in 2006 and are back for their triumphant return. Although most of their tour was scheduled for Europe, they still had time for the west coast of Canada and the U.S. I arrived at the Key Arena, and I was directed and redirected to different lines that would eventually ... Prior to the Sasquatch! Festival I had created a preview for this site, and a couple of days later I am ready to look back and see how I did. Lots of moving and shaking going on in the table below.
It appears that the biggest surprise of the weekend for me was Major Lazer and the biggest drops were The Flaming Lips and Iron and Wine.
Preview Top 10
Post-Fest Top 10
1. The Foo Fighters

Sasquatch! Festival – Friday 5/27/11 – The Gorge Amphitheatre
Review, pictures and video from thenaturalstoner and Phishbeard
Since we have 4 days worth of Sasquatch! content to post, I thought it would be best to put each days items up on ConcertConfessions.com individually. Friday was the opening night of the Festival, and it was a super rocking good time. There were less bands on Friday, and we were testing out our camera access limits, so the Friday content isn’t as voluminous as the rest ... Read More

Bad Religion/Rise Against 05/10/11
Pop's Outdoors - Sauget, IL
Words/Photos by BeeZnutZ
I love outdoor shows. They remind me of summer days spent outside seeing some of my favorite bands with good friends. When Rise Against announced they would be touring with Bad Religion I was sold. Even better the venue Pop's 24/7 in Sauget, IL was hosting the show outside, in the parking lot in between two nightclubs.
The morning of the show was gloomy, rainy and anything but exceptional weather for an outdoor event. ... Read More

Now that's what I call a punk rock show-It's just continuous awesomeness for the Jay Porks Never Ending Concert Series, in which the 47th installment brings us out to Asbury Park, NJ to the Stone Pony “SummerStage” for Social Distortion, a band I've been dying to see forever, but especially since I missed them last year. And since I'm rolling with Pam, the “Pam-Van” is in full effect picking me up from work and headed out to the ... Read More

Wow, what can I say....this was my first coverage of a festival. This was put on by local radio station X96(KXRK, www.x96.com) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The line-up included headliners Flogging Molly and Hollywood Undead. Being that I shot photos for each performer, I wasn't able to catch full sets of anyone. BUT, needless to say, Flogging Molly showed up and took possession of the indoor stage like they always do-large, loud, and proud. Lead singer Dave King commanded the stage, which ... Read More

And the love-hate relationship with this awesome yet dreadful venue continues. As Jim Nantz would say “Hello friends”, and take a seat aboard a train head down the tracks of the 46 installment of the Jay Porks Never Ending Concert Series.. Tonight Me and fellow Jay Porks Experiencer Pam are heading out to meet Terminal 5 in NYC, this time for Rise Against w/ Bad Religion. Now, call me, Pam and my father a few of the crazy ones-but ... Last time Social Distortion came to town was a few years ago. I went on advice of a friend and had a great time. When they announced the Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes tour I didn't think I could go.
Somehow I got the night off work. I love it when the venues post the set times on the website. Unlike most nights I really did not want to go see a show. However I hopped in the car and headed ... Read More

Unwritten Law w/ Authority Zero 04/19/11
The Complex - Salt Lake City, UT
Words/Photos by Meredeth
Well, I must say, being new here, this is one hell of a show to start off with. Authority Zero and Unwritten Law just came through Salt Lake City this week, and needless to say, they got our attention.
Authority Zero is an Arizona-based band, and this was my first encounter with them. The front man, Jason DeVore should charge for the clinic he put on in "bringing it". He ... Read More

The only front porch, whiskey swillin’, foot stompin’, bean can shakin’, gypsy, punk, country, grumble, boogie band in the land Dirtfoot, who have received previous attention on Concert Confessions and will be supporting Primus for five shows in May, are asking for their fans help to fund their newest creation, Dirtfoot: Live and In Prison recorded live and in front of actual prisoners at the Wade Correctional Center in their home state of Louisiana.
