Remember when Jay-Z and Nas staged that Rap war that took the whole Hip Hop world by storm? Yea, this is far from those days.
Every time you look at a festival bill, you always see Nas listed performing with Damian Marley. Whether he has a deep love for being on tour, or it has something to do with that money he owes in back taxes-you'll probably have your chance to see him in your town in the near future.
And for the ... Read More

I have to start this by saying thank you Firebird for hosting so many great shows in the past few years. If you wanna watch people become stars, this is a great place to do that.
With all genres of music at The Firebird each day, I often check their website for new listings. While searching last week, I noticed a fimilar name : Hopsin was coming to rock. Oddly enough it was a early show that was scheduled to start at 5 ... Read More

As 2011 reaches a close, we take a look back at the year in concerts. In volume, I probably attend the least amount of total shows per year if you pool all of the contributors here at Concert Confessions. But never the less, by years end I will have reached 23 concerts, eclipsing last years total of 20. My only personal goal is to always get out to more shows then the year before. We did that in 2011, and here's hoping ... Read More

2011 was a year of many ups and downs and a lot of very unique and diverse shows of which I feel lucky and blessed to partaked in. And hey, nobody died this year. So moving on to number 10.
Number 10: Prof, 08/17/11 The Pageant, Saint Louis, Mo
Prof had impressed me quite a bit the early part of 2011 with a strong performance and a free cd that didn't suck. A few months later he was back opening for Atmosphere, Evidence, and ... Read More

Even if you don't think you do, you already know who Killer Mike is. He has been in the game since his debut on Outkast's 2000 release " Stankonia " and has yet to slow down. Most recently on the new single featuring T.I " Ready Set Go " . He has been in atleast 3 movies, including ATL and Idlewild.
Needless to say he has been and stayed busy the past 11 years. So when my friend Curtis called and said Killer ... Read More

Blue Scholars with Grynch and Bambu – 10/29/11 - The Belltower – Pullman, WA
Review, pictures, video and audio by thenaturalstoner
I had a pretty fun evening at The Belltower last night with Blue Scholars, Grynch and Bambu! This was billed as The Belltowers (Pullman, Washingtons newest concert venue) first hip-hop show, and I was admittingly worried about the sound levels in the building. The venue is a converted old church, and I had seen Starfucker there a few months back and the mixes ... Read More

Here we are again from the great state of Utah, often overlooked for its live music scene and great venues. This time I get to share with you a review of my most favorite band, and some of my best ever photos. It's my favorite tour of the summer, Unity Tour, which means one thing, and only one thing: 311 has come back to play for ME!
311 has this awesome habit of coming to Utah at least once a year, sometimes we're ... Read More

Summer Jam is an annual show that happens here in Utah. It's been going strong for a few years, and this summer's was no exception. Headlining the show was T-Pain, New Boyz, Dev, The Rej3cts, and many others including local talents. I was lucky enough to get a photo pass, and snapped as many shots as I could. There were between 7000-10,000 people in attendance, and it made for a diverse and never dull crowd. This party blasted Salt Lake on 07/30/11 ... Read More

Matisyahu 07/28/11
Oregon Zoo - Portland, OR
Words/Photos by jakobross424
Jewish reggae singer/rapper Matisyahu's show at the Oregon Zoo was a show that I didn't even plan on going to. I was a fan of Matisyahu, don't get me wrong, but the two tickets were for my mom and dad. When my mom was in too much pain to attend the show, it was my turn to step up. The drive to the zoo was about 2 and a half hours including Portland rush hour traffic, but ... Read More

I always wondered what it would be like when I saw that show I was extremely unfulfilled with. I've never left a show thinking “I'm gonna trash the sh*t out of this thing”.. Well, let me try not to give away the ending here as the 49th edition of the Jay Porks Never Ending concert series is sort of a continuation from where we left off last time. A few weeks ago we endured Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da ... Read More

Isn't it funny when you remember exactly where you were and who you were with when you first heard something? Well with Lil Wyte I remember exactly. It was my buddy Curtis, his Friend Jimmy and Me, hanging in Jimmy's basement playing playstation. Curtis had the habit of buying new cd's every Tuesday. We were all big fan's of 3 6 Mafia and on March 4th, 2003 Curtis's purchase of the week was Lil Wyte " Doubt Me Now ". We sat ... Read More

Prior to the Sasquatch! Festival I had created a preview for this site, and a couple of days later I am ready to look back and see how I did. Lots of moving and shaking going on in the table below.
It appears that the biggest surprise of the weekend for me was Major Lazer and the biggest drops were The Flaming Lips and Iron and Wine.

Sasquatch! Festival – Sunday 5/29/11 – The Gorge Amphitheatre
Review, pictures and video from thenaturalstoner and Phishbeard
Sunday morning started off much like Saturday, with a whiskey and coke. We battled wind the night before and made it through unscathed, but Sunday night would be an entirely different beast. The shows Sunday were great, possibly the best day musically, but the aftermath was about as lame as it gets. Read on….
We had a tough decision to make in the afternoon, and it was unfortunate, ... Read More

I first heard about Curren$y a few years back in some Hip Hop magazine. Did a few youtube searches and got schooled. Curren$y is a busy man.
First signed to Master P's No Limit Records as part of the 504 boys in 2002. The New Orleans native wasted no time after appearing on Master P's " Good Side Bad Side " album Curren$y packed up shop and left No Limit. Next stop Cash Money Records under Lil Wayne's label Young Money Records. Soon ... Read More

Well, we decided to do something a little different here for the 48th installment of the Jay Porks Never Ending Concert Series-we're going rouge on this one. We're headed out to a club called SOB's in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City teetering on the borderlines of the Lower East Side, catching an “impromptu” show featuring the Hip Hop super-group known as “Slaughterhouse”(recently signed to Eminem's Shady Records label), consisting of rappers 'Joe Budden', 'Joel Ortiz', 'Royce Da 5'9'' and ... PROF 03/10/11

PROF? Who? Yeah, I said the same thing when asked had I heard of him. Turns out I was asleep and he has been on the grind for quite a while. Most recently touring with Atmosphere. He also hails from Minneapolis, MN.
I was at home planning a crazy night for myself when the phone rang. It was my buddy Curtis, he asked me if I had heard of Prof? I said, I hadn't but I ... Read More

Chiddy Bang 08/12/10
Old Rock House - St. Louis, MO

Thursday August 12, Chiddy Bang came through St. Louis on The Swelly Life Tour, named after their debut album which will be released in a few weeks, and played to a sold out crowd of 375 at Old Rock House. I went into this show not expecting a lot as I hadn’t heard much from Chiddy Bang, but after obtaining free tickets via an Old Rock House Twitter ... Read More

A fresh clear monday summer night in St. Louis. I crossed yet another band off the concert bucket list. Cypress is a band I have listened to for 13 plus years. I still remember that fateful trip to the pawn shop. You could cop used cds 3 for 10 dollars. I still remember what I bought that day. A Cd with no cover caught my eye, I bought Temples Of ... 06/27/10 Vans Warped Tour - Ventura, CA
Words/Photos/Videos by Reverend Justito/concertconfessions.com
With not much going on between Against Me! and Reel Big Fish at the 2008 Vans Warped Tour, I wandered around Seaside Park in Ventura, CA looking for some punk rock. While I failed to find some punk (or eve ska) I did manage to discover two crusty Colorado punks pondering how to make love to the innocent without leaving behind finger prints. Within seconds, I was hooked on 3OH!3 and ended up ... Read More
