Only 2 / 3 of the Wakarusa Festival lineup has been released so far, and you should make it a priority to snag your tickets and premium camping passes now because they won't last!

Showbox SoD0 - Seattle, WA

After an extremely hectic concert week filled with late nights and let downs, I was proud to say that this is one reggae concert I would NOT be getting kicked out of. As Flavor Flav once famously said:
"[All ages show] boooyyyy!"
Well, kind of. Anyway, Hawaiian reggae power trio Pepper was going on tour for no reason except to have fun. After a short stint at this year's underwhelming Warped Tour, ... Read More

For the fourth consecutive year I made the trek to the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival to enjoy four days of music and camping in a setting that they call “Where Music Meets Mother Nature.” With acts ranging from My Morning Jacket and Ben Harper to the Budos Band and Dark Star Orchestra to STS9 and Bassnectar, a total of over 100 bands spread out across six stages, with on-site camping, showers, and even a grocery store ... Here we are again from the great state of Utah, often overlooked for its live music scene and great venues. This time I get to share with you a review of my most favorite band, and some of my best ever photos. It's my favorite tour of the summer, Unity Tour, which means one thing, and only one thing: 311 has come back to play for ME!
311 has this awesome habit of coming to Utah at least once a year, sometimes we're ... Read More

Wednesday the 13th started off like any normal day. Had breakfast, had guitar lessons, picked up my buddy Devin. You know, the usual.
Around 4:30, me, my dad, and Devin left for the Echo Movement show at Studio Seven in Seattle.
Echo Movement is an alternative reggae band who my dad and I first saw at Warped Tour 2010 and had come in contact with via Facebook. We were talking and got to know each other, and eventually my dad and I got put ... Read More

Prior to the Sasquatch! Festival I had created a preview for this site, and a couple of days later I am ready to look back and see how I did. Lots of moving and shaking going on in the table below.
It appears that the biggest surprise of the weekend for me was Major Lazer and the biggest drops were The Flaming Lips and Iron and Wine.
Preview Top 10
Post-Fest Top 10
1. The Foo Fighters
1. Modest Mouse
2. The Flaming ... Read More

It is an interesting time in the music world right now. Concert ticket sales are way down, yet prices seem to be up. Massive tours have been forced to cut dates due to slow ticket sales. With the music industry in disarray and the future leaning towards digital music (and quite possibly the return of the vinyl!!) the multi-day music festival made famous by Woodstock has made a strong return.
There is something unique about being able to ... Read More

January in Utah is not exactly known to be balmy. And this year is no exception. The snow, the skiing, the beautiful icicles, and the huge sky that seems to say "aha" after a huge snow storm ... I love it all. And yet ... winter can make one yearn for, say, a Caribbean cruise.
Harry O's provided the perfect venue for a mental vacation at Friday night's Patwa gig. The Park City-based Patwa Reggae Band is named for a Jamaican Creole language ... Read More

Blazed and Confused Tour 07/24/09
Shoreline Amphitheatre: Mt. View, CA
Words/Photos by jhallead
My boss comes up to me at 3pm on a Friday asking if I want our box seats for the Blazed and Confused Tour at the Shoreline. With no time to change, headed north with my white hippie shirt and flip flops.
What did I have to drink you ask? Gin and Juice, what else? I was actually surprised that Snoop opened for Slightly Stoopid. Sorry Slightly Stoopid fans, but I think they ... Read More
