King Diamond made his triumphant return to the USA after an 11 year absence. What better way to celebrate Halloween than to spend it with The King himself. With the Wiltern in Los Angeles sold out months advance, fans showed up in costumes and waited for the beloved falsetto-singing Danish heavy metal legend.
At 10:30pm, the lights turned off, the crowd roared with excitement, and an eerie intro came upon us as the curtains lifted up and revealed the stage to have 2 ... Read More

If you had asked me a week ago who Richie Kotzen is, I would have said I had no idea. Ask me now and what would I say? One of the most phenomenal guitar player/singer's that I've seen in a long time. It was Saturday night and I had the night off from work for once and my best friend (A.K.A my "concert bitch") Bob asked me if I wanted to go to this show with him. Richie Kotzen. Who the fuck ... Rough Trade - Brooklyn, NY
Words/Photos/Videos - Jay Porks
Ladies and Gentleman welcome to one of the newer venues to hit the Tri-state area: Rough Trade Records in Williamsburg.
And here I thought we were headed to some basement shack with 6 foot ceilings and a stack of 50 records that the band stands on and plays. Absolutely not. New York City now has it's Amoeba, it's Vintage Vinyl . If only the stage was located inside this extremely well ... Read More

POPS CONCERT AND NIGHTCLUB, SAUGET, IL
WORDS/PHOTOS BY BEEZNUTZ
Easily one of the most hated touring acts around, The Insane Clown Posse has been on a cross country tour for the past month. Facebook has been filled with spiteful people saying comments such as " They still tour" and more hateful comments. The majority of the people who post these kind of comments just can't figure the whole Insane Clown Posse ... Read More

Meat Puppets, Cass McCombs
The Duck Room at Blueberry Hill, St. Louis, MO

I have been going to concerts since 1996 when I was 13, somehow I have missed seeing the Meat Puppets despite a few chances to do so. Sadly after this evening of blistering loud rock and roll I was kicking myself the entire 50 minute ride home. I was thankful to be able to go to this show, things have been a little tight as of late but ... Read More

So get there early, dress up in costume and ... Read More

What can you say about a personal concert for 750 people in a small venue downtown St. Louis. Weezer who seemed to just fly in right before the show, put on an amazing concert. The acoustics where fabulous in fact Rivers said it didn't sound like 750 people it sounded like 20,000 and he was right, what a night for a Weezer fans that attended.
This wasn't a scheduled tour date by know means, it was a charity event, put on by Rungevity ... Read More

Folk metal is a style of metal that’s always a fun and enjoyable to see and get involved with. Eluveitie, Týr, and Metsatöll stopped by the legendary House of Blues in Hollywood, California on October 2nd for a night filled with classic folk metal, old friends, new friends, weird-looking instruments, beer, beer, and more beer!
Metsatöll is a folk metal band from Estonia. I had never heard of them before this tour so I took this chance to check them out. Luckily I ... Read More

For the first time in years, Dutch symphonic rock/metallers Within Temptation made their way to a full USA tour. They brought with them Amaranthe, a band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Ever since I first listened to Within Temptation, I had been impatiently waiting for a US tour. The day the tour announced, I could’ve dropped down to my knees and cry like a baby. On September 26, 2014 at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles, the anticipation was getting to see of finally ... Read More

The Viking Metalers, Amon Amarth, set out on a journey across the ocean from Sweden for their second North American tour this year. But they didn’t come alone. They brought fellow Swedes, the power metal band, Sabaton. They also brought the blackened thrash metal band Skeletonwitch whom they had toured with earlier this year. On September 25th in Riverside, California, the Riverside Municipal Auditorium was about to be decimated. This was also my first time in this area and venue so I ... Read More

I love it when I go to see other bands and walk away being a fan of the opening band, and that's just what happened with Miggs. I first heard Miggs when they opened up for Scott Weiland a couple years ago, and was hooked. They have since opened up for Candlebox, and done several headlining tours across the Midwest, I'm glad I was able to catch them in Indianapolis for the second time this year, even though this was my fourth ... The Carnivores tour was one of the biggest tours of the summer. Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, and AFI all banded together to put together what was surely to be a huge summer tour. With Linkin Park being one of my favorite bands, I didn’t even think twice about attending this show even though ticket prices made me cringe a bit. This show took place at the historic Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California on September 15, 2014.

Terminal 5 -New York City
Words/Photos/Videos - Jay Porks
On this seasonably warm Saturday evening New York City is lucky enough to be graced with the presence of Kasabian tonight in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan. Back in March 2012 the band was here in this very venue and the night was almost as magical as Derek Jeter's final home game. Tonight we're hoping for some of the same, as we'll be 3,000 deep in the sold out Terminal 5. Bo ... Read More

Heavy metal legends Accept went on a mini North American tour in support of their new album, Blind Rage. Metal Church was to be the support for the tour, but they dropped due to singer Ronny Munroe undergoing surgery. So instead, the heavy metal band Raven filled in. Music comes into my life for a reason, when a band sings a song that I can relate to at a time were I need that song to get me through whatever it is I'm dealing with, I'm instantly a fan. Any band that can do that, is a pretty good band and Repeat Repeat is just that.
I discovered Repeat Repeat last year, as I'm friends with the drummer Andy Herrin who also drums for another band "Cavo" from the St. Louis ... Read More

Being a fan of a band since they first came onto the scene is usually how I roll, especially if it's a band that keeps making albums and writing killer songs, Theory of a Deadman is just that band.

Old rivals Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden toured together for the first time. On August 25th, they played the Hollywood Bowl to a packed audience. Both bands had their feuds and differences in the 90’s when they released their perspective albums, The Downward Spiral and Superunknown, but they learned to put their differences aside and did this tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of both albums.
This was my first time seeing Soundgarden and with them being one of the biggest alternative rock/grunge ... Read More

I'm a rock and roll girl by heart, but if you have amazing harmonies and can rock a guitar you have probably won me over regardless of the genre of your music, country or rock.

What can I say, a show to end my vacation and birthday week made complete. One of my favorite bands in the whole world, Powerman 5000 playing a show in the exact same venue that Dimebag Darrell was shot at years ago. What more could a Filter fan ask for then a two hour non-stop rocking set. Oh, I know, have it happen on your Birthday of all things.
It was by far the best birthday ever, and I should have known something was up, when Richard tweets that "special" things are going to go down at this show, and everyone should come, well those that didn't, missed an epic night of live music.

If a show is within driving distance from my home, it's more then likely I'm going to make the trip. I usually map quest it to see how far it is, and then decide from there. It's know surprise that going to see Powerman 5000 is a tradition, if they are within three or four hours of my house I'm making the drive, and I'm glad I did. As the Summer's last month came upon us, August 1st just happened to land on what should be excluded as a weekday altogether. The Friday night's moon, a waxing crescent if you're looking for technicality (a big ass yellow quarter slice is what I'd say) was fitting for the anticipated occasion. If the 'Summer Nationals' Tour is doing anything correctly, it's giving us to chance to catch The Offspring and Bad Religion on the same bill. Unfortunately, the only date of this tour that I can make it to is the one at the Stone Pony Summerstage in Asbury Park down the shore of the Dirty Jerz.
