Queens of the Stone Age was in town for their Live On Letterman performance that aired via the internets at 9PM EST, so only fitting that they'd stick around and play “My God is The Sun” off their latest, incredibly sexy record '...Like Clockwork'. Take a listen to that album here, and then go buy it. For the performance that aired on broadcast television, just scroll down below because we have video courtesy of, our buddy The Audio Perv. Monday night, Killer Mike took to the stage on David Letterman. If you follow Killer Mike on twitter, you were definitely aware that it happening. If you're the guy writing this, you're glad Killer Mike tweeted out a link to the video of this so he could set his alarm forward a few minutes tomorrow morning. Anyway, check out the video of the performance for "Untitled" (which featured Scar and El-P )

We don't cover much hip hop here on Concert Confessions, but when we do, it's good hip hop. Take the case last night with Dr. Dre's latest prodigy Kendrick Lamar made a trip to the Ed Sullivan Theater to perform on Letterman. Lamar, recently played two sold out nights at New York City's Roseland Ballroom. For the video performance of "Poetic Justice" (with a full band), scroll below.

Finishing off a week of decent musical guests all over television, Imagine Dragons were on David Letterman last night. They played their latest single, "Radioactive". You can check out a replay of their performance below, along with the question "Why does this guy have a huge drum next to him"

Last Night David Byrne and St. Vincent were on David Letterman. They played a song called "I Should Watch TV" while we all, well, watched TV. The song features plenty of odd facial expressions by Byrne as most of their performances do. Check out the video below, and thanks to Consequence Of Sound for the photo above that I borrowed.

AWOLNATION Hit Letterman Performing "Kill Your Heroes"
This AWOLNATION Kill Your Heroes song is freaking awesome. It was a song in heavy rotation on a short lived New York City alternative station, so I haven't heard them in a while. Glad they were on Letterman last night performing the aforementioned Kill Your Heros. Check Out that video below, courtesy of course of The Audio Perv

Gary Clark Jr Rocks Out The Late Show w/ David Letterman
Gary Clark Freaking Jr! This guy is seriously all kinds of awesome. Last night on Thanksgiving Eve, one of the last survivors of soul stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater (where every night is a night of good music according to David Letterman) to perform on Late Night. In between Hurricane Sandy relief shows in New York City the past couple of weeks, Mr. Clark Jr and his band played the gut-wrenching ... Read More

Tegan and Sara Rock "Closer" for David Letterman
Decisions, decisions. When Tegan and Sara were performing on Letterman last night, it was tough to choose which jokes to go with for this post. Do we go with lesbian humor? a twins scissor joke? Maybe make fun of Canada? We're not doing any of it. We'll just say how they impressed fans at their recent Bowery Ballroom show and that they are opening for the Killers at MSG in December. Check out the video ... Read More

The Dirty Projectors Perform on Letterman
Brooklyn's own The Dirty Projectors were on David Letterman last night to perform a song called “About To Die”. Obviously, we're all happy that none of the band is dead. As for the song.. well, I don't really have any idea what that was. Why don't you check it out for me? The video lays below courtesy of The Audio Perv

Soundgarden Unleash King Animal on The Ed Sullivan Theater Live on Letterman
We're going to change things up tonight and post some Soundgarden stuff, it's not like they've been in the news this week or anything. They've only announced some small gigs along with appearances on a few of the Late Night shows (Letterman, Kimmel), then killed it across the pond on Jools Holland before announcing a bigger tour for 2013 and have kept this writer busy posting stories about all that stuff ... Paul Banks (of Interpol) Hit Letterman Last Night
The lead singer from Interpol, Paul Banks made an appearance on David Letterman Last Night to perform a song called "Young Again" off his latest solo effort. But that's not the story here, it's the eerie empty sounds of the Ed Sullivan Theater as there was nobody in the crowd braving the storm. There was nobody to laugh at any of Dave's jokes while introducing Banks, and after the song ended there was no roar, no nothing. A ... Read More

The Wallflowers Return To David Letterman
Let's hit you with some honesty. This writer has a day job that has one of the "Muzak" radio things blasting the Expressions station all day long. It's brutal. Elevator music along with Adele ruining songs I used to like. Anyway, I get only slightly over four minutes of relief, and that's when The Wallflowers "6th Avenue Heartache" comes on and I start ignoring customers who want a refill on (what they believe is) Ginger Ale. That ... Read More

Video: Mumford & Sons 'Live On Letterman'
So check this out. As one of these music snob guys, you try to drive your point home to everybody you know about how important it is to capture stuff with pictures or video. So when 2 of my friends(who will remain nameless for legal purposes, but it may or may not be a member of our Summerland caravan and her boyfriend) found their way into the Ed Sullivan Theater on Friday Night for what was ... Bob Mould Stops By David Letterman
This Friday, Bob Mould will be surrounded by crowded bike racks, dumpster divers, and organic vegetable stands as the legend will visit Hipsterville when he stops by Williamsburg Park to play a FREE show that this writer will hopefully get to. Unfortunately, it is only Wednesday. So killing time in the city that never sleeps, Mr. Mould stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman to perform 'The Descent' . Check out the video below courtesy of The ... Read More

The Walkmen Perform 'Heartbreaker' on Letterman
I dig that one song from The Walkmen YOU GOT SOME NERVE TO BE ASKING A FAVOR. I think those are the lyrics. Whatever, they are critically acclaimed, Letterman said so. So enough of my rambling, here are The Walkmen performing Heartbreaker on David Letterman’s Late Night TV Show (spoiler alert – it’s not as cool as the song I butchered above).

Milo Greene Make Network Television Debut on Letterman
Tonight, LA rockers Milo Greene stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City to make their network TV debut on the Late Show w/ David Letterman. They played a song called "1957", which didn't suck for the first 14 seconds this writer got to listen to before his internet crapped out him. Anyway, the video is below and that of course is courtesy of the Audio Perv. Check it out.

Tom Waits Shows Off Mousetraps, Performs on Letterman
If the name Tom Waits isn't enough to get your panties wet as a fan of music, then I don't know what will.
He stomped upon the Letterman stage for his interview to a huge ovation, and him and Dave spoke about a number a topics, Waits had props with him. An item that appeared to be a very expensive Rat torturing device, an “antique” I guess, from the 1600's or something. All this can seen ... Read More

Fresh off performing to thousands of fans at the Orion Music + More Festival in their own back yard, The Gaslight Anthem came across the river to the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, to play a song called "45" on The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday night. Jimmy Cliff Gives The Crowd 'One More" On Letterman
Last night on late night TV it was Senior Talent Show Night. We already shared with you The Beach Boys performing on Leno (and if you look at the user comments we are apparently assholes for speaking the truth). Now we keep the geriatric beach jams alive and kicking with Jimmy Cliff live on Letterman. The living reggae legend hands down wins the contest with a smoking take on One More. Check it out ... Silversun Pickups Make A Letterman Pitstop 6/4/12
I jumped on the Silversun Pickups band wagon a few years ago with "Lazy Eye", and even I'll admit, it's funny to say that you didn't know the lad singer was a dude until you saw them perform. Truth is, in the realm music that comes out these days, Silversun Pickups are excelling by not putting out terrible music. Does it blow your mind? Some people it might (I wanna see them live, see what happens), ... Read More

Best Coast Play "The Only Place" On Letterman
I walked in from a night of Foxy Shazam and the first thing on TV when I walked in was Best Coast on Letterman. Funny, because we at Concert Confessions were just discussing the other day about how Best Coast are playing Orion Music + More Festival (that Metallica thing in Atlantic City) and how it's not going to take long for this chick (the singer in this band) get hit in the face with ... Tenacious D Perform 'Roadie' on Letterman
Easily entertained is how I would describe the majority of fans of music I run into.
That being said, last night Tenacious D stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City to play a boring song to a crowd that loved it. Maybe it's because I don't find Jack Black funny in most of his flicks that I don't get this band. But I don't care if they brought John Bonham and Jimi Hendrix back from the dead ... Read More

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros Do Their Thing on Letterman
It’s shit like this that keeps me out of Silver Lake as much as possible. I mean what the fuck is going on here? I assume the drummer failed with 3-4 bands with names like To Write Love On The Sickest Kids or Pierce The Maya. Is that the oldest Hanson brother on guitar? Oh and hey check out the front man, who I can only assume is Edward Sharpe, but no ... Read More

The War on Drugs Pay David Letterman A Visit
Back in January our pal Jay Porks decided to post The War on Drugs appearance on the Jimmy Fallon program because they have an awesome name. We really dug the jam (which NBC has since removed). Thankfully, the band (who we also gave away tickets to see in Hollywood) has once again showed up on a late night television talk show. This time they paid David Letterman a visit and you can watch their ... Read More
