The Jay Porks Top Four Shows of 2010
Words/Photos by Jay Porks of the Jay Porks Experience
I swear I'll eventually learn how to cut down on the length of posts.. Just not quite yet. That said, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to determine shows would make the cut in my Top 5 of 2010. I mean, what does one exactly judge specifically when it comes to this type of list. The criteria is vague to say the ... Read More

Stone Temple Pilots 09/04/10
Jones Beach Amphitheatre: Wantagh, NY

Can someone please stop those rumors?!?!?!. With the recent fall from a stage by Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland during a show and his "ability" to continue to sing on "cue" when he should have been hurtin', it is no wonder that the internet has been rampant with those rumors of STP using lip syncing backing tapes during their shows. This incident has also led to the chants of Scott Weiland getting back ... Read More

Axl Rose vs. 500,000 Bikers: G'n'R Set To Headline Rock 'N Rev
Rock ‘N Rev – the festival that was rumored to be cancelled just weeks ago has perhaps pulled off the headlining coup of the summer. That is of course if you like headliners who are 1/5th the band they used to be.
With an already impressive lineup of red state rock bands (Godsmack, Three Doors Down, Creed) coming to Sturgis to play for a bunch mad men (and women) on motorcycles, the ... Read More

Scott Weiland 01/29/09
Rams Head Live - Baltimore, MD
Words/photos by Joyce
Editors note: I originally started this concept of fan-submitted concert reviews with a Myspace page. While a good chunk of those reviews were lost when the now-dead social network deleted my page with no warning, I came across this review saved on my hard-drive and decided to share it here. I hope you enjoy.
So last night I had the pleasure of seeing Scott Weiland at Rams head in Baltimore. I almost didn't go coz the ... Read More

2010 KROQ Weenie Roast
06/05/10 - Verizon Wireless Amp: Irvine, CA
Words/Photos/Videos by Reverend Justito/concertconfessions.com
No longer a Fiesta, the annual KROQ Weenie Roast returned to Irvine, California on the first Saturday in June 2010. The long lasting corporate rock radio festival is not only a celebration of Summer's arrival, but a chance for the stations simple-minded fan base to act like complete and total douche-bags. Despite this fan-base of brainless burnouts, KROQ always puts together a top-notch line up of artists young and old. ... Read More

Stone Temple Pilots were the music guest on the May 26th episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Supporting their brand new self-titled record - the band played a rather lackluster version of the lead single "Between The Lines" before dipping into the back catalogue for "Big Empty."
Hopefully the band is in better shape next weekend when we pay them a visit as part of the 2010 KROQ Weenie Roast.
One final note: Is it just me, or is Weiland looking more and more like ex bandmate ... Read More

Here we are on this rainy New York City night for the twenty seventh edition of the Jay Porks Never Ending Concert Series.. Tonight we are headed to the Blender Theater at Gramercy, 127 East 23rd street to see the legendary hard rock duo from Illinois- LOCAL H..
Interesting subplot to this evenings show: Earlier in the week a story broke that the Stone Temple Pilots were trying to squeeze Local H out of the room for tonight's event- or should I say ... Read More

(This review was originally published on MTVnews.com in June 2008)
In 1993 I walked from my parents’ house to the only music store in San Carlos, California. The store was called Rod’s Records Videos & Tapes, and on one warm summer day I slapped my hard-earned Hamilton down on the counter. In exchange for the cash that I had earned sweating away over the lawn mowing and bathroom cleaning, I was handed a cassette tape by Stone Temple Pilots called Core. I removed ... Read More
